Basically a piano trio outing featuring Stu, late Jim Lacefield on bass, and myself; with added contributions by Stu's brother, Ken, on reeds, ex-Don Ellis percussionist, Lee Pastora and a string quartet. As much as I played with Jim over the years, this was the only complete jazz record we ever made together. Sadly, Jim was taken from us way too soon. As a compatriot in jazz and a dear friend, I miss him constantly."

"I met Klaus Doldinger in the "musician's bar" at the Montreux Jazz festival immediately after my 1977 performance there with the Don Ellis Orchestra. Imagine my surprise when he called three years later and invited me to come to Munich and spend a week recording part of the upcoming Passport album. To Klaus' pleasant surprise, things pretty much clicked and we were able to finish the whole album during that first visit!"
